PRACTICAL
PROJECT 1(A): PHYSICAL COLLAGE
As for this exercise, I cut out a few pictures from old magazines and printed a few of my pictures to incorporate the elements in the collage. Below is the progress that I've been working on.
In this piece, I incorporated the elements that relate to me as I found a few of the cutouts elements in the magazines and printed out a few of my pictures on what my daily life looks like. Recently, I just celebrated my birthday on 28 August, which represents the number 28. Hence, I received flowers bouquets delivered to my doorsteps and I love receiving flowers personally. The red car represents that I enjoyed driving and oftentimes would drive my family and friends here and there. I do believe that everyone loves seeing naturally beautiful things especially, the beach, rainbows, sky, and stars. Therefore, I cut out the elements as it reminds me to live in the moment and enjoy them while it lasts. Aside from that, I'm a person who enjoys being with my friends and I value my friendship and the people around me. My friends and I share the same interests where we love to try new hobbies, thus, the cutouts of the penny board where we enjoy skating at the park/empty car parks. And finally, the bear in the middle as a focal point indicates that I have a soft spot for bears and I love fluffy bears.

| Figure 1.7: Composition #2 |
In this piece, I cut out the elements that I found relate to myself as who I am. As a person who enjoys traveling, the luggage bag, shoes, and airplane depicts adventurous travel. Whereas, the butterfly symbolizes that growth is a process, that we don't just wake up and become butterflies overnight. The teary-eyed symbolize me personally, where oftentimes I find myself overly anxious and overthink about the future which slowly takes a toll on my mental health. Therefore, those tiny little texts are the words of encouragement that I usually received from people around me, especially my family and friends. The beach, stars and the sun reminds me that the world is very beautiful and there are many beautiful places and things worth living for. The music notes symbolize that music has become part of my life where I usually begin and end my day listening to music. And last but not least, the film camera, bouquet flowers, potted plants, and matcha drink are a few of my favorite things that I incorporated particularly in this piece.

| Figure 1.8: Composition #3 |
In this piece, I incorporated the elements which consist of a few pictures that I've taken through my phone and bits of cutouts from old magazines that closely tells the story of me in pieces. The beach is definitely one of my favorite go-to places as it puts my mind at ease. I've been to multiple concerts, be it either live shows or virtual shows, I'd say that going to concerts makes me happy where I'm surrounded by people who I love and singing along to the music that I enjoy listening to. The piano represents the musical elements in which music helps me heal, as the saying goes "when words fail, music speaks". The facial features (eyes & mouth) indicate that a smile isn't genuine unless the eyes are smiling too and sometimes the eyes can say more than the mouth. Whereas, for the flowers, it reminds me that flowers grow back even after they've been stepped on.
FINAL SUBMISSION
FEEDBACK Physical Collage: I received direct feedback from Mr. Fauzi on my collages and Mr. Fauzi suggested Composition #2 for submission later.
REFLECTION I really enjoyed this exercise as it gives me the freedom to express my own thoughts as well as my own type of art therapy in designing the collage. Hence, I get to take my time off from the screen and explored some of the pictures, cutting them out from magazines, newspapers in order to make a new visual piece. On the other hand, it really does bring back memories of doing this in school.
