TASKS

Task 2:  Decisive Moment Poster

Week 6:
We were required to choose one decisive moments from tv shows, movies, game and etc. I did come up with a few movie scenes sketch from Up movie and F.R.I.E.N.D.S tv show. Below are the sketch that I did roughly on the paper.

Figure 1.2: F.R.I.E.N.D.S  Tv Show Scene (06/05/2021)

After  picking a few scenes, I sought feedback and approval from Ms Anis- I decided to choose the second option (F.R.I.E.N.D.S tv Show scene) on illustrating and animating the poster.

Week 7-8:
I started to illustrated the scene and improvised a minor details on the poster. Below are my progress and result of illustrating.

After I'm done illustrating, I decided to go with the third poster as it only depicts the iconic door with little details on it- in order to keep it simple and minimal. Then, I tried to animate them through photoshop. Below are the result of my first attempt on animating the poster.

Week 9:
As for this final week of this task, I did show my progress on the animated poster to Mr Kannan. Mr Kannan suggested me to add shadows and add texture on the wallpaper as my poster looks flat.

Figure 1.5: Feedbacks and Suggestions from Mr Kannan (27/05/2021)

After adding a few amendments and details on the iconic door based on suggestions from Mr Kannan, below are the results:

As for the animation, I decided to wiggle the turkey head from left to right and moved the hand up and and down  rather than zoom in and zoom out the turkey head as what Mr Kannan suggest.

FEEDBACK

Week 6
General Feedback: Design a poster with a minimalist style approach.

Specific Feedback: Ms Anis said that the F.R.I.E.N.D.S scene could be an interesting if I were to animate it.

Week 7 *public holiday (raya)*
General Feedback: No class this week and submission for project 2 has been updated and extended.

Specific Feedback: No specific feedbacks.

Week 8 *e-learning week*
General Feedback: No general feedback.

Specific Feedback: Ms Anis said that overall my poster and gif are okay.

Week 9
General Feedback: Mr Kannan suggested my classmates and I to add shadows and textures as most of our illustration are flat in order to gives it a stronger impact and emphasising on the look and feel of the character.

Specific Feedback: Mr Kannan suggested me to wiggle the turkey instead of moving the bossum part of my character and moved the hand up and down.

REFLECTION

Week 6

• Experience: Choosing and picking up a few scenes from movie makes its easy but when it comes to the decisive moment itself, I needed go through and search to choose the iconic scene from the movie.

• Observation: Overall, feedbacks from Ms Anis helps me a lot in the process of animating as Ms Anis told me that it could be great if I could animate from the F.R.I.E.N.D.S tv show scene.

• Findings: I did asked few of my friends who are the actual fans of the F.R.I.E.N.D.S tv show scene for their opinion and suggestion on my decisive moment, and they all recommended me the "monica turkey scene".

Week 7 -Week 8

• Experience: I started to illustrate and animating the poster, however I am not fully satisfied with the outcome.

• Observation: Hence, I decided to illustrate and animate the poster (try and error) as the animation doesn't looks smooth.

• Findings: It took me few days to animate the animation. where at some point I guess I've enough of animating in regards to make it perfect, I keep asking my peers feedbacks as well as my sister.

Week 9

• Experience: Finally its done and I'm glad its done!! After receiving feedbacks from Mr Kannan and my peers, I did a few amendments on my final poster animation.

• Observation:  Although, I still kind of not fully satisfied with the outcome for the Monica's shadow (the lady character with turkey head) as I did it frame-by-frame, I found the shadow wasn't consistent as the other static shadow (door and the guy character-Chandler). But, I guess it's good to go as I re-did the shadow in order to make it consistent every time, and this is by far the best I could get.

• Findings: Every little details from the feedbacks given brings better insights and enhance my final outcome on the poster animation.
